Originial Story: Wide Awake

Song One

She said to me
I hate that there’s no
Hap -pily ever after
Not here for me
Said it’s best if I just leave
That I remind her of a dream she had
A long time ago

But now it seems . . .  she lost her hope
I just want to be her home
The one she loves more than life
But it seems she lost her light
Her love
Her zest for life
And now I stuck in a sea of what ifs

What if I run to you
What if take your face
And hold it in my hands
Act as I’m your man

What if I grab your waist
Hold you still in place
And make you forget your pain

I can’t . . . I can’t leave you
Like this
You were the one I’m meant to be with

I know, I know you’re hurt
I will try
To make it all
Go Away . . .

She said to me
I hate that there’s no
Hap -pily ever after
Not here for me
Said it’s best if I just leave
I remind her of a dream she had
A long time ago …

Okay this is from my story on fictionpress.com called Wide Awake.  Please, please give it a read and some reviews.  I'm trying to showcase some of my original works and would love some input.
